<p><strong>Option 1: Move Some Iron!</strong></p>
<p>Bench Press<br />
Dead lifts<br />
Squats<br />
Chin-ups (palms facing you shoulder width apart)<br />
Pull-ups (palms facing away slightly wider than shoulders)</p>
<p>For simplicity I&#8217;m going to give you a simple routine. Workout 3 days a week and do each exercise twice during the week. Your goal should be to constantly be adding more weight to increase your strength and to be pushing each set to the point where you can&#8217;t do another one.</p>
<p>Prior to starting get on the treadmill or bike for 5-10 minutes to get you warmed up.</p>
<p>The reps and sets should look something like this.</p>
<p>3 Sets &#8211; Set 1 (6-8 reps at heavy weight), Set 2 (8-10 reps at slightly lower weight), Set 3 (10-12 reps at even lower weight)</p>
<p>Make sure when you start lifting weights that you do a warm up set. And if you&#8217;re not familiar with these exercises have someone show you proper form so you don&#8217;t hurt yourself.</p>
<p>I guarantee that if you focus on getting stronger with every workout that you will start leaning up so fast that you won&#8217;t believe it. Working out with the focus of getting stronger with every workout will turn you into a fat burning machine.</p>
<p><strong>Option 2: It&#8217;s Beach Body Time!</strong></p>

<p>Weight Gaining Behavior &#8211; A 2004 study published by Dr. David Levitsky examined the eating behaviors of college freshman at Cornell University. He found that the students whom gained the most weight had 3 common characteristics:</p>
<p>1. &#8220;All You Can Eat&#8221; Dining<br />
2. Snacking On High Fat Junk Foods<br />
3. Increased Frequency of Snacking on Junk Foods</p>

<p>You need to be careful when it comes to snacking. Most snacks are carbohydrate and/or sugar based. AVOID these snacks at all costs. They will balloon your calories and carbohydrate intake, pulling you right out of the fat burning zone. Instead focus on eating protein and fiber rich snacks. This one behavior change will make a huge different in your journey to lose more weight.</p>
<p>In regards to &#8220;All You Can Eat&#8221; Dining, this is just a bad idea. Control your environment. We are very sensitive to visual cues such as plate size, amount of food, glass size/style, etc.  &#8220;All You Can Eat&#8221; Dining is setting yourself up for dieting failure &#8211; avoid it at all costs so you can control your calorie intake with ease.</p>
<p>Stress, Exercise, and Support &#8211; Another famous study, the Lifestyle Heart Trial, reveals to us 3 crucial behavior changes that we must make for permanent and <strong>fast weight loss</strong>. Between 1977-1980, a group of people were put on the Ornish Diet as part of the Lifestyle Heart Trial. The Ornish Diet is a vegetarian diet that is very low in fat (less than 10% of calories from fat). Because of the severe fat restriction many find this diet hard to adhere to for the long term. However, during the Lifestyle Heart Trial the participants experienced phenomenal results such as regression of heart attack causing plaques in their arteries. Ever since this original study, similar results using the Ornish Diet have never been replicated.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Because the people in the study were implementing more than just a diet; they also did regular exercise (3 hours per week), meditation and relaxation (1 hour per day), and participated in 2 group support sessions each week. The addition of the other factors made the diet so much more effective.</p>
<p>Most people are probably already adding exercise to their weight loss plan but many miss regular stress management and developing a strong support system. These are make or break pieces to your fat loss puzzle. Adding exercise, stress management techniques, and finding a support system will greatly enhance your weight loss results.</p>
<p>If you are having trouble losing weight or if you have hit a weight loss plateau examine your current fat loss efforts. Do you actively manage the stress in your life? Do you have a support team? What kinds of foods are you snacking on? Do you control the portions you eat by avoiding &#8220;All You Can Eat&#8221; events?</p>

<p>Diet pill claims are always debatable so let’s take a look at the ingredients and see if it passes the test.</p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">7-Keto</span> &#8211; Studies show it is effective in weight loss, but at high dosages side effects such as heart palpitations were found.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Yerba mate and Guarana</span> – Similar properties to caffeine which claims to help in thermogenesis (fat burning).  Research is limited but both are commonly found ingredients in diet supplements.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Citrus Aurantium</span> – AKA Bitter Orange contains synephrine which at the right concentration is high quality diet pill ingredient with fat burning properties.  Unfortunately most companies that claim to use this ingredient don’t disclose the concentration of synephrine.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Green Tea</span> – Numerous studies have shown Green Tea to be a proven ingredient that will increase your metabolic rate which will in turn increase the amount of calories you burn.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Dandelion</span> – Diuretic properties that cause you to excrete more water and salt lowering your water retention which in turn lowers body weight.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Bioperine</span> &#8211; Helps to increase the bioavailability of nutrients.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Lean System 7 (LS7) Review Conclusion:</span></p>
<p>I have my reservations about 7-keto DHEA due too the negative publicity it has received for anti-aging claims.  With that said it does appear to have some promise as a diet supplement.  Further studies need to be done.</p>
<p>With that said I am a big fan of products that contain Citrus Aurantium and Green Tea.  Both have solid clinical studies to support them.  My only concern is the lack of concentrations of each ingredient in LS7.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Bottom Line:</span></p>

<p>Obviously I agree that any weight loss supplement should have clinically proven ingredients but most companies out there like to stretch the truth about their “clinically proven” results.</p>
<p>Let’s take a look at the ingredients and see if it passes the test.<br />

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Fucoxanthin</span> – Most commonly found in brown sea weed and is used widely in Asian cuisine.  Only research I could find was on obese mice which showed to have some positive effects.</li>
</ul>

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Razberi-K</span> – Found in raspberries hence the name and has been shown in certain studies to aid in weight loss.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Guggul EZ 100</span> &#8211; There is a small amount of evidence that indicates guggulsterones may also have value as a fat burner but the clinical studies are limited.  More research is needed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Thermodiamine</span> – Comes from a Chinese fruit that some claim burns fat by increasing the body&#8217;s production of heat, as well as reducing the body&#8217;s ability to store fat.  Animal studies show some potential for Thermodiamine but more human trials need to be done.</li>
</ul>

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Forslean</span> – Animal studies and research has shown that Forslean helps to reduce body weight and body fat.  One study on humans showed that it helps mitigate weight gain in overweight females with apparently no clinically significant side effects.</li>

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Lipolide SC</span> – Increases the burning of fat by increasing your body’s thyroid hormone levels.  Limited research at this time.</li>

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Infinergy DiCaffeine Malate</span> – Caffeine has been used for a long time as a weight loss aid and is a very common ingredient in many diet pills with a well established research history.</li>

<p>As usual the marketing does not live up to the hype.  It&#8217;s possible that Apidexin may have good potential as a weight loss supplement but I am not sold on their claim of losing 4-7 pounds per week effortlessly.</p>
